Super Junior Leeteuk has expressed his uncomfortable feelings about how his ex-girlfriend was labeled as a ‘sponsor’.

On the 9th of February, Leeteuk wrote the message (that read) “Please don’t put in misleading article titles for the sake of promoting the show. It doesn’t feel good” through his Twitter.

On the recent filming of MBC Every1’s “Super Junior’s Foresight”, Leeteuk said “During my trainee times I was a younger man who received special treatment(?)* from an older female”, recalling his romantic experiences with an older woman at that time.
Leeteuk said that “(She’s) not only more mentally matured, but also more financially stable as well”.

He confessed that the older woman not only provided everything he needed from head to toe, but also would also occasionally receive pocket money from her when he goes to the salon and for shopping.
In the same filming session that he told his story, his ex-girlfriend was labeled with the ‘sponsor’ expression, leading to Leeteuk leaving such words on Twitter. The fans have expressed their opinions on Leeteuk’s sensitive subject.

This is because the word ‘sponsor’ has a negative connotation in the entertainment world. In particular, sponsors for female celebrities remain a controversy, and since it’s a topic that should not be touched upon, Leeteuk’s words in response (to the label) is understandable.
On the other hand, the episode of “Super Junior’s Foresight” where Leeteuk had revealed his experience of dating an older woman will be aired on the 9th (of February).

The production team of MBC Every1’s “Super Junior’s Foresight” has expressed their regret over their choice of words, “Leeteuk’s female sponsor”, which was used on the information tagline on the 8th February episode (of the programme).

Recently on “Super Junior’s Foresight” was done together with Roo’Ra’s* Kim Jihyeon (and)
Chae Rina, and also Two Two’s** Hwang Hyeyoung. On the day, during the talk segment whose subject was on “Older/Younger”, Leeteuk, whom had a relationship with an older woman in the past, led the recording session by honestly and wittily talking about his love story, creating a warm atmosphere.

During the talk, Leeteuk noted that dating an older woman had a psychological advantage, and that she would also be able to give out financial help. However, ahead of the broadcast, the focus was placed on the keyword “older woman sponsor”, causing all of Super Junior and the production team to be completely baffled by it.

About the incident, the production team of “Super Junior’s Foresight” said that “(It) has deviated from its original meaning and the word ‘sponsor’ was perceived in a negative manner. The title of the promotional material was wrongly selected and misleading”.
Also, he said in an apology that “The beautiful love story from the past has been distorted and became an issue on the internet, and because of that I’m sorry to Leeteuk who was upset from the matter.”
