Part 1 :
Korean
boy band Super Junior M (SJ-M for short) members are having long stay in
Taiwan to film a drama and to learn Mandarin. They made use of their
free time yesterday to PK1 in making dumplings. The dumplings that
Sungmin made looked like the shape of flowers, while Eunhyuk jokingly
made the dumplings into the shape of spring rolls since his skill isn’t
as good. Not only do they have skilled hands, they are also good at
making money. Last year, together with their main band Super Junior,
they made 2,304,600,000 TWD2 for their company SM Entertainment, and
half the amount earned was from their activities/album sales in Taiwan,
Hong Kong and Japan!
Part 2 :
Even
though Henry’s mother is a Taiwanese, he confessed that he only learned
how to make dumplings while on variety shows and that he isn’t very good
at it. Chinese member Zhou Mi confidently said that because he has been
helping his mother to make dumplings since young, his skill is above
average, but was labeled as ugly by Ryeowook in the end.
Ryeowook
and Sungmin skillfully made Korean-styled dumplings in the shape of a
circle and flower, and Sungmin explains: “Koreans believed that the
prettier the dumplings you make, the more beautiful your child will be!”
By making the dumplings in the shape of spring rolls, Eunhyuk used his
creativity to stand out. Donghae, who is trying hard to learn Mandarin,
was still unable to catch the 4 tones in Mandarin, and kept pronouncing
‘dumplings’ as ‘sleeping’3.
1 PK = to compete against each other.
2 TWD: Taiwan New Dollar
3 The han yu pin yin for both sleeping and dumplings are “shui jiao” but are of different tone.
